The horror, thriller film; Oculus, begins with two siblings hiding from a gunman. After the man leaves, the kids leave the house, but the boy cries after seeing a mysterious woman with bright eyes. While calming her brother, the gunman shoots her. Tim, a young St. Aiden Mental Hospital patient, tells his doctor this is the first time he saw himself killing the girl. The doctor says he has emerged from his delusional self in consciousness and sleep, which is good.

The doctor and committee release Tim on his 21st birthday after discussing his recovery. Kaylie, Tim’s sister, stares at the Royal Antique mirror at an auction with her boyfriend, Michael. $16,000 mirrors. Kaylie takes her brother while the doctor advises Tim to rest. After the hospital, Kaylie greets Tim. Kaylie recommends lunch with her and her boyfriend. Kaylie asks Tim to remember their promise.

After tracking something for a long time, Kaylie says she saw it in an auction, shocking Tim. Two-day delivery. Tim and Kaylie moved with their parents eleven years earlier. Marie supervises the movers. Tim’s mother asks Alan, who’s busy at work, to buy new furniture for the house, but she loves antiques and refuses.

Young Kaylie shows her brother the house and room. Tim claims he was too old to help Kaylie again. Kaylie promises to do it without him tomorrow night. He distracts Kaylie’s mother from her belly scar. Kaylie then sleeps with Michael and sees the same mysterious lady in the mirror. Kaylie’s father attacks from behind, but her boyfriend calms her.

Michael tells her the next day that their colleagues found graphical content for her to print. Kaylie needs to resolve her dark issues with his brother. Kaylie guarantees improvement. She moves the mirror for repair when her boyfriend asks.

Kaylie promises to fix the mirror and the repairman leaves. Kaylie uncovers the mirror after the repairman leaves and sees her statues moving. Kaylie is scared when the repairman returns.

Tim walks around after Kaylie moves the mirror to the house where she moved with her parents eleven years ago. He helps his sister unload the mirror inside. Kaylie unloads and sets the camera and temperature sensors around the mirror to monitor. Kaylie introduces herself and Tim to the camera and says she will test the Lasered glass because it has killed 45 people. Kaylie links 1867 murders to the Lasered glass. After a while, Michael calls, and she disconnects after asking her boyfriend to call her in an hour and telling him to call her every hour because she is with her mentally ill brother.

Tim doesn’t stop Kaylie. Before telling her story, Tim asks why they’re here. Kaylie says the mirror arrived in their father Alan Russel’s office in 2002, and two weeks later, Alan killed his mentally ill wife and was killed by his son. Tim dismisses it, saying Kaylie’s theory could have caused that. Kaylie says she wants to prove the murders were supernatural. Kaylie mentions a glass-breaker who died in a car accident. Tim suggests breaking.

Kaylie asks him about their 11-year-old attempt to break it, but Tim doesn’t remember. Tim opens the mirror and tells her to stop delusional. Kaylie suspects Tim because he blames Kaylie’s job for not breaking the glass. Alan’s finger hurts while working on the computer.

Hearing whispers during finger testing makes him lose control. A file surprises Alan. Alan accuses his children of destroying it, but they deny it. After that, Alan asks Marie if anyone has entered his office because the emergency gun he bought could hurt the kids. Marie is enraged. Tim recalls Mason biting their mother. Alan ignores Marie’s dog complaints. He ignores Marie’s question about his conversation partner.

Tim tells Kaylie parvovirus caused all their dog’s issues. After that, Marie locks the dog in her husband’s office. She can’t open the door. Marie is furious about the dog, but it’s gone when Alan gets home. Tim tells his sister that their parents’ problems were caused by a bad marriage and their father’s affair, but Kaylie says there’s no evidence.

Bad marriages didn’t kill their mother. Tim fights Kaylie’s dog. Tim tells Kaylie it’s genetic and treatable. Kaylie is saddened by this, so Tim suggests she call her fiancé. Kaylie checks with Tim. The cameras’ opposite directions surprise Tim. While fighting, they check the cameras.

Tim watches Kaylie record and calculate the field of impact after seeing this. Tim is excited to come inside after calling someone outside. After that, Kaylie hears his mother vacuuming and finds Marie at the mirror when she visits. Marie inquires about their father’s office woman at dinner. Tim ignored her on the stairs. Her husband’s office has “Marisol” notes. Broken family photo.

She throws something at the mirror and sees her scars bleeding. Marie flees the office. Marie assaults her children when they ask about their mother’s screams. Marie fights Alan. She’s choked. Alan then forbids his children from entering their mother’s room. Tim helps Kaylie now.

Kaylie notices one of their bulbs turns off accidentally after Tim eats an apple in the kitchen. She eats the apple and changes the bulb. Tim’s question normalizes things. Alan says he has everything on his list when Kaylie tells him they need groceries and a doctor for their mother. Kaylie cries from Marie’s room. Alan is furious that she disobeyed him and asked her father to call the doctor.

Alan convinces Doctor Bob to return by claiming Kaylie’s behavior is caused by her mother’s illness.

Tim runs to his room after seeing a horrible woman with his father while Kaylie lights the house. Kaylie picks up a broken plate’s sharp edge and sees footsteps. Kaylie stabs someone and sees Michael. Tim joins her, and Kaylie claims nothing is real but cries after seeing Michael’s dead body on her phone. Tim calls 911 outside. After leaving, the lights turn on.

Kaylie breaks the phone when Tim calls 911 and hears his father. They then face the mirror with a cheerful woman. When she approaches, they flee. While locked up, the kids watch Alan meet Marie and point a gun at her. Kaylie then asks Tim to leave while she entertains their parents as they grow up. Kaylie leads Marie out while Tim hides in the living room. Kaylie escapes through the window.

Alan shoots Tim, who claims nothing is real. Kaylie saves her brother from the gunshot. Marie attacks Kaylie, guided by Tim. Tim rescues. They hide behind a door and hit the mirror as their father leaves, but it’s unharmed. Alan murders Kaylie. Tim demands Alan release his sister. Alan shoots himself after freeing Kaylie. After Alan dies and all the mirror’s victims scream, Tim opens his eyes to find himself alone.

All is well without Kaylie. Kaylie faces the living room mirror. Tim’s lever breaks the mirror and hooks Kaylie’s neck. Tim learns the trick late. As Kaylie faints, the police arrest Tim for his sister’s murder. Tim cries that the mirror killed Kaylie, but no one believes him. The movie ends with younger Kaylie asking her brother to remember their promise.
