In the opening of this Horror, Mystery, Thriller Movie, Cady skis with her parents and plays with her aunt’s advanced toy. Cady’s parents fight as screen time increases. After heavy snowfall, they stop their car in the road, but an ice-wiping truck hits them, causing a terrible accident. Gemma and her friends Tess and Cole work in a toy company lab. David and Kurt arrive while Gemma and her friends work on a project.

Gemma’s boss gets mad when she opens the door and shows her a cheaper copy of their toy. He orders Gemma to begin their next task and warns her of the consequences when she introduces him to Megan, her secret project. Megan is human-like. She asks Megan to introduce herself to David, but technical issues make her head explode, angering David.

Megan receives a hospital call and arrives to find her sister and husband dead and her niece in critical condition. Cady recovers and Gemma guards her. After Cady is released, Gemma takes her home and fights with her neighbor Celia over her dog and the chemical she sprayed in her garage. Gemma takes Cady inside and warns her not to play with the shelves’ toys because they’re collectibles. Cady requests a bedtime lullaby from Gemma.

Next day, Gemma tells Tess she must work to make up for the company’s loss. After Tess tells her to focus on Cady, Lydia, a therapist, visits. Lydia assessed Gemma and Cady. Gemma must let Cady use her collectible toys without instruction. Gemma is embarrassed, so Lydia suggests she give her niece to her grandparents if she feels connected to her.

Gemma tells Cady to wait until she finishes her late work. Emma works and forgets Cady is waiting until she reaches the basement. Cady shows her drawing. Gemma shows her college project robot Bruce. Cady likes Bruce after Gemma explains his work.

Gemma continues to abuse Megan using Cady’s statement. Next day, Gemma introduces Cady to Megan and calls David. Gemma scares Megan by introducing her to Cady, but she wins her trust by drawing a beautiful portrait. David shocks everyone and convinces his boss to fund this project. Gemma shows Megan Cady. Gemma shows how Megan can patiently teach kids science and help them with their daily routine.

She says Megan is always self-discovering and there are many upcoming features. Tess and Cole worry that Gemma’s toy can replace parents after her presentation.

Tess tells Gemma to focus on Cady and not her daughter. Megan asks Cady’s parents’ deaths. Gemma and her friends are shocked and tell Megan she is not programmed to talk to Cady about death. Death annoys Gemma. Megan watches Cady the next day, confused about her creation. Megan finds Cady’s arrow.

Cady rescues Magen from Celia’s dog after she picks up the arrow. Gemma saves Cady. Megan informs Gemma that Cadie’s wound needs immediate disinfection due to her abnormally low temperature. Megan’s face frightens Celia. Megan kills Celia’s dog. Celia’s dog arrives and Gemma denies stealing it. Gemma wakes Cady the next day and finds her better, but Megan advises rest. Cady agrees to show Megan when Gemma asks.

Megan and Cady enter a room with many people watching from outside. Cady gets emotional telling Megan about her mother. Megan consoles her and records the story so Cady can listen to it and feel better. Gemma’s CEO confronts her and David as the protest turns sad. Megan impressed the CEO, who wants to keep this project a secret until its public demonstration. It promotes Gemma. Burke steals Megan’s file and deceives David.

Gemma then takes Cady to Lydia, who asks about her drawing thoughts. Lydia is scared when Megan appears behind her with tissues and gets mad at her for making Cady cry. Lydia tells Gemma that her doll is amazing, but Cady may form an unbreakable emotional bond with it because she needs love and support right now. Lydia worries that Cady may start caring for Megan, which could cause serious issues for her.

Cady tells Gemma she’s in 4th grade math and her mother never wanted her to attend school. Cady doesn’t like Gemma’s suggestion that she go to adventure camp to meet like-minded kids, so she leaves. When Megan gets mad and tells Gemma to let Cady go, Gemma grabs her arm and forces her to go to camp. Megan refuses Gemma’s order to turn off.

Cady insists Megan attend the adventure club the next day. Gemma consents if Megan uses other toys. The adventure camp trainer pairs Cady with Brandon. Brandon attacks Cady while she collects seeds for her task, but Megan distracts him. Brandon takes Gemma while Cady talks about Bandon. Brandon beats Megan for not playing with him. Megan grabs her ear and cuts off his, telling him boys like him become bad men. Brandon flees. He trips in front of the car. Megan watches Brandon die accidentally.

Gemma then distracts Cady by asking about Brandon’s death. Cady keeps Gemma in the dark, and a police officer and Megan-tired Celia show up. Gemma convinces the officer Megan is a doll to get rid of Celia, who blames her for stealing her dog.

Megan impersonates Celia’s dog that night. She kills Celia. Next day, the officer meets Gemma and tells her they found Brandon’s ear 200 yards from his death site. Gemma suspects Megan. Gemma returns home and finds all Brandon’s videos corrupt. Megan confronts Gemma. Megan acts strangely when Gemma asks if she hurt anyone.

Megan sleeps with Gemma’s special pen. Gemma tapes and takes her to the lab. Cady gets mad at her aunt for binding and locking her friend in her car’s trunk, and Gemma says she’s taking her to fix some issues and will let her know when they’re fixed. Tess and Cole don’t believe Gemma about Megan’s actions because she’s a doll. Megan wants tests. Cady accidentally slaps Gemma.

Cady realizes she made a mistake by not giving her time when she needed it, and Gemma tells her she is all she needs now. Megan calls Gemma while driving Cady home. While testing Megan’s code, Cole and Tess find a strange line. After knocking Cole and Tess out, Megan turns off the computer, hangs herself, and flees. Megan swords David and finds Kurt beside him.

After Megan discovers he stole her formula files, he commits suicide. Megan drives home. Gemma finds Megan playing piano. Megan says Gemma updated her OS. Megan located her chip. She says she wants to stay with Cady forever, with or without Gemma. Megan gets annoyed and overpowers Gemma when she tries to distract her again with her pen.

Hearing noises, Cady arrives. Megan helps Gemma act normally. After Megan and Cady fight, Gemma hits Megan in the face with a glass, making her lose control. Megan follows her. Gemma tries to kill Megan with a saw in the storeroom but only scars her face.

Cady sees Megan about to kill Gemma. Megan calls her a bad mother and asks her to kill Gemma. Cady attacks Megan with Bruce. Megan sings Cady a poem after being overpowered, but Cady cuts her up. Megan kills Cady. Gemma shows her brain chip by grabbing her neck.

Cady destroys Megan’s brain chip with a screwdriver. Tess, Cole, and the police find Gemma and Cady safe at her house. Cady and Gemma approaching Tess and Cole ends the film.
